MBA in Accounting

The MBA program at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is a flexible program that allows students to choose the specializations that they believe will most benefit their careers. The class sizes of this program are small, and they often stay between 10 and 20 students. To complete this degree, students will take 18 hours of core business and leaderships courses and then supplement them with specialized electives. Students can choose from

University of Nebraska at Omaha

College of Business Administration

The College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska-Omaha is designed to prepare students for their professional life. With an emphasis on social responsibility, the school aims to teach students skills that will benefit them both in the classroom and in the world. The department offers degrees in accounting, economics, finance, and marketing management. The school also offers a China Studies program that inserts an important global element into the programs.

Master of Accounting

The Master of Accounting degree is a pathway into professional accountancy in many roles including public firms, private firms, government roles and management roles. The program focuses heavily on integrating theory into practice, and the Master of Accounting program meets the educational requirements to take the Certified Public Accountant examination in the state of Nebraska. This program is highly technical, and it requires that students have completed 33 credit hours of foundation courses before beginning the advanced master’s program. These courses include accounting principles, economics and financial accounting classes that are usually offered at an undergraduate level. Candidates for the master’s degree must have satisfied the conditions for these classes and have obtained a 3.0 GPA in all of the classes. Once admitted into the graduate program, students are required to take 15 credit hours of courses in accounting that include:

* Graduate Topics in Income Taxation
* Strategic and Operational Planning and Control
* Seminar in Accounting
* Federal Tax Research and Planning
* Seminar in Accounting Information Systems
* Advanced Financial Accounting
* Special Topics in Accounting

Students will also take required business courses and nine credit hours of electives. To successfully complete the degree, students must pass a comprehensive examination.
