As financial reporting requirements become more complicated and stringent, companies are seeking individuals who have completed accredited accounting degree programs in New Hampshire and other states to untangle their complicated finances. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 4,420 accountants employed in the state of New Hampshire in 2014 and the average annual salary in the state was $68,250. This compares to the national average salary which is $73,670.

It is expected that accounting positions will grow by 13 percent over the next ten years. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, accountants who have earned professional recognition, such as Certified Public Accountant will have the best prospects. In many states, individuals must have 150 semester hours of college credit before they are qualified to sit for the CPA examination, and New Hampshire is no exception. This means that many people are continuing their education at the graduate level in order to meet the CPA examination requirements.

Stricter laws and regulations as well as tighter lending standards are also creating positions in the accounting field as companies must provide additional documentation of financial stability in order to qualify for credit. All of these factors indicate that individuals who have completed accredited accounting degree programs in New Hampshire and other states will have an advantage over those that do not when it comes to job prospects.
