Attending an accredited online finance degree program in Indiana after you complete your undergraduate degree will leave you with more opportunities in the future, including the chance to make more money and the ability to move up within your current company. Though the state has several colleges that offer traditional campus programs, you’ll have a harder time finding those that take places online. Indiana University actually offers two different upper level finance programs that you can complete without ever stepping foot on campus. These programs let you do all your assignments and all other required work around your schedule.

Indiana University

Kelley Direct Online

Indiana University is the name given to the state’s largest school system. It consists of multiple campuses in South Bend, Gary, Richmond and other cities across the state. The largest of those campuses, which is the one most think of, is the one in Bloomington. The school system also has a partnership with Purdue University that led to the foundation of Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis or IUPUI. More than 110,000 students take courses across all those campuses and through the online or virtual campus that IU now operates. This online campus includes nearly every course and program offered on one of its traditional campuses.

Master of Science in Finance

The Kelley School of Business at IU ranks as one of the nation’s best business schools and offers two of the top accredited online finance degree programs through its Kelley Direct Online program. This program or system lets you take all required courses and earn your degree online. One of those programs is the Master of Science in Finance program, which covers topics like risk management, financial planning, data analysis and economics. IU designed this program for students to complete in two years or six semesters. You will take two to three classes each semester. Some of those courses include economics, financial valuations, financial strategies and financial risk management. IU requires that all online students agree to take one class worth 1.5 credits on its Bloomington campus, but you may have the chance to take this course on an extension or satellite campus closer to you.

MBA in Finance

IU and its Kelley School of Business also offer an MBA in Finance program that lets you earn a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance. The university recommends that students start in the fall semester and take four semesters over two years to finish their studies. You will need to take 51 credit hours of work, but only 39 of those credits are required classes. Business interactions, business law and information technology are some of the courses required of all students. You can pick and choose from various electives to complete the amount of work necessary. With the Accelerating Global Immersion Leadership Education (AGILE) program, you can even study abroad as an online student. This is one of the only accredited online finance programs in Indiana that has a study abroad component. You can spend a semester or more studying in India, China and locations around the world.
