The world of finance is becoming more competitive for job hunters because many companies are enforcing stricter hiring qualifications and accounting controls. Companies are doing this because the failure to properly handle government regulations and public opinion over financial mismanagement may seriously harm an organization. Graduates of online master of finance programs may find work in the field of commercial banking, where they may work as credit analysts or accounting supervisors, or they may find work as independent financial planners. This career option is popular because these professionals do not have to be certified to advise individuals or corporations. Graduates may also find work as asset managers, insurance underwriters, consulting actuaries and investment portfolio specialists. The University of Portland offers students the opportunity to earn either a Master of Science in Finance or an MBA in Finance degree through their successful Pamplin School of Business.
