The Coastal Carolina University E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration offers six undergraduate majors and two masters’ degrees in Business Administration and in Accountancy, which is one of the top accredited accounting degree programs in South Carolina. Students are required to participate in professional development activities, increasing their skills and confidence when they enter the job market. The department also focuses on small class size and individualized education to prepare students for the business of life, going beyond the material required for the degree and including soft skills like communication and critical thinking.

Master of Accountancy (M.Acc.)

The Master of Accountancy (M.Acc.) program at Costal Carolina University is open to both students already in accounting and those who want to change their careers. There are two track options for students: assurance and taxation. The assurance track focuses on fraud detection, data management, and litigation while the taxation track builds tax knowledge across all taxation categories. Both tracks are 30 hours long and provide a broad range of education as well as specific courses in the track selected. Classes required for both tracks include governmental accounting, law for accountants and financial statement analysis. A primary focus of the master’s degree program is developing critical thinking skills and gaining an understanding of the global economy. Many students who successfully complete the Masters’ of Accountancy program will also satisfy the requirements to take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.
