Troy University offers several different degree programs for individuals interested in careers in the industries of finance and accounting. The list below provides details on each degree program currently available.

  • The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Global Science with a concentration in accounting and finance is centered around teaching students how to guide businesses and companies in successfully conquering their goals. Students will learn about financial reporting, managing finances, cost management systems, measuring performance, cost accounting, and cost management. In addition, students will also be introduced to the data used by financial analysts as well as the entire process of financial reporting. The following courses are frequently chosen by students in this program: Managerial/Cost Accounting, Financial Reporting and Analysis, Intermediate Financial Management, Investments, Financial Statement Analysis, and more. This degree may be earned completely online or in traditional classes on campus. Full-time students may complete this degree in four years.
  • The bachelor’s in accounting provides students with the knowledge and skills to pursue a career in the accounting field. Along with accounting practices and theories, students will also learn various business subjects, such as finance, management, and marketing. Troy University Accreditation Details

Troy University has received its accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCC), which is located in Decatur, Georgia. The SACSCC is a regional agency that is responsible for providing accreditation to colleges and universities in its specific region. The states in the region of the SACSCC include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

Troy University Application Requirements

Individuals interested in an undergraduate program must fill out an application form, pay the $30 application fee, and turn in high school or college transcripts.

For the master’s degree programs, individuals must fill out an application form, pay the $50 application fee, turn in transcripts, submit test scores, and provide an acknowledgment/recommendation form.

Tuition and Financial Aid

The tuition cost for in-state undergraduate students is $325 per credit hour. For out-of-state undergraduate students, the tuition is $650 per credit hour. In-state graduate students are required to pay $425 per credit hour, and out-of-state graduate students are required to pay $850 per credit hour.

Tuition for online undergraduate students is $338 per credit hour, and tuition for online graduate students is $494 per credit hour.

Troy University offers many scholarship opportunities to students with a demonstrated need of financial assistance. Some of the undergraduate scholarships offered annually are the Scholars Award, the Sorrell Scholars Award, and the Chancellor’s Award.

  • The Scholars Award is given to students that made at least a 30 on the ACT and 1360 on the SAT. Only admitted students with a 3.7 grade point average (GPA) are considered.
  • The Sorrell Scholars Award is awarded to five students annually that plan to enroll in the accounting or global business program. This scholarship is given to the most academically superior applicants.
  • The Chancellor’s Award is provided to students that scored at least a 26 on the ACT and 1230 on the SAT. Only admitted students with a 3.5 GPA are considered.

Graduate students with financial need have the opportunity to pursue an assistantship position. The assistantship requires the student to work 20 hours each week assisting in an academic department in exchange for tuition assistance. A stipend to live on may also be provided, depending on the academic department.
